BONSERNEWS.com – The latest conditions for subsidizing electric motorbikes will be announced tomorrow, Tuesday 25 July 2023. It is planned that these conditions will make it easier to grant subsidies and purchase electric motorbikes.

The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said that the finalization of the subsidy requirements would be announced during a limited meeting with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

“Yes, we want a limited meeting (limited meeting) tomorrow. So we want it to be finalized,” said Luhut, Monday, July 24, 2023.

The provision of electric motor subsidies is regulated in Regulation of the Minister of Industry Number 6 of 2023. Requirements for recipients are recipients of people’s business credit benefits, micro-business productive assistance, wage subsidy assistance and recipients of electricity subsidies of up to 900 volt amperes.

Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko once revealed that these conditions might have been an obstacle to granting subsidies. He also highlighted the lack of socialization of the program and the complicated registration process that electric motorbike manufacturers had complained about.

Absorption of electric motorbike subsidies, which have been allotted 200 thousand units from the government this year, has been minimal. According to thesisapira.id site accessed on Monday 24 July 2023 there is still a remaining quota of 198,861 units.

Until now, only 36 units have been distributed, 121 units have been verified and 982 units are still in the registration process. ()
